About Me
Hi, I’m Isabel — a certified native European Portuguese tutor helping adults use Portuguese for work, family, relocation, and everyday life in Portugal.
I know that learning a new language is about much more than grammar rules. Whether you are moving to Portugal, adapting to a new job, preparing for retirement, or wanting to connect more naturally with Portuguese family members, the real goal is to communicate more comfortably and feel more confident using Portuguese in everyday life.
That is why my lessons are one-to-one, personalised, and focused on real-life communication.

My Teaching Approach
My teaching approach is practical, structured, and focused on communication.
I usually begin with Portuguese in context — for example, through a dialogue, audio, short text, image, or realistic situation. We then look at the vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation used in that example, practise them through guided exercises, and apply what you have learnt to situations that are relevant to your own life.
Lessons are guided by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) while being adapted to your level, pace, and individual goals.
Depending on what you need to work on, lessons may include:
- interview simulations
- professional vocabulary and workplace communication
- practice with professional emails and documents
- role-plays based on everyday situations
- speaking practice with clear feedback and correction
- pronunciation and listening practice
Whether you are a complete beginner or already have some experience with Portuguese, I will guide you step by step with lessons that are structured, relevant, and adapted to your needs.

Professional Communication in Portugal
Alongside teaching, I have a professional background in administration and marketing. This experience helps me support students who need Portuguese for workplace communication, job interviews, CVs, professional emails, and other work-related situations in Portugal.
It also gives me practical insight into professional communication in Portugal. This means we can work not only on using accurate language, but also on choosing expressions, tone, and forms of communication that are appropriate to the situation.
Depending on your goals, we can focus on the language you need to communicate more clearly and confidently with colleagues, clients, employers, or other professionals in Portugal.
A Supportive Learning Environment
I work with adults and I know that learning a language can sometimes feel overwhelming. My aim is to make the process clear, practical, and encouraging.
If needed, I can also provide support in English to make explanations clearer and help you feel more comfortable during the lesson.
